Hi I'm Devan Armstrong

Born and raised LDS (mormon) grew up in California, Utah, Nevada, Colorado, and now Arizona.

About Me

I love reading, writing, swimming, fishing, reading the Book of Mormon, and I love to make everyone around me as comfortable as possible. I want to go to BYU Hawaii (or Idaho) and I'm always willing to do anything for my friends (but nothing illegal, haha). I am very open and honest, but will sometimes put niceness over honesty when the situation calls for it. I love my parents and I am grateful for the friends I have.

Why I am a Mormon

Other than the fact that I was born into the LDS faith, I myself have had to go through my own "conversion". I was horribly physically and emotionally abused by my biological father in my childhood, but my mother took me and my sister away from him, and we became inactive for some time. We came back, but I didn't totally begin to "believe" until I myself prayed to my Heavenly Father if the church was true. I got my answer shortly after (I'll give you a hint, it was "yes") and have been quite devoted to the Church, though at times I do struggle, I always come back with the help of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I also agree with everything the church stands on, such as abortion, gay marriage, alcohol, drugs, premarital sex and other sexual sins. I have been known by my peers to get very energetic when it comes to these topics, and each one of my friends know my stances on most social issues.

How I live my faith

I'm currently the Teachers Quorum President which means I preside and plan activities for both Mutual and some Church Activities for the 14 and 15 year old boys. I live my faith by being extremely vocal of what I oppose (abortion, gay marriage, alcohol, drugs, fornication, need I go on?), I read my scriptures as often as possible, I love and express my faith to my friends, family, and sometimes, strangers. I live the Law of Chastity to the best of my ability, and follow the Word of Wisdom with extremity. I also hate vulgarity because I love, respect, and value women more than a lot of my non-LDS friends.
