Hi I'm Jared

I was born and grew up in Durango, Colorado. I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I grew up in the little town, I just gratduated from high school and am serving a mission now. In high school I ran track, and cross country and played basketball. Some of my hobbies include riding motorcycles, wakeboarding, hiking and hanging out with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church as many kids were. When I got older I decided to continue going to church because I recognized the blessings that I receive in my life from the church. I also would talk to my non-member friends at school and they would always say I was different in a way, and I always felt different from them not in a bad way but just different. As I got older I started to understand more and more why I was different from my friends, it was because of my standards and my beliefs. I didn't believe in partying and drinking on the weekends, I would stay home and do fun things with my family or hang out with my member friends and have a movie night or something. I would choose to do different things then them and I started to really see blessings come then. I saw friends get in trouble, get arrested, get hurt and just be plain unhappy in their life's and as I get older I see what a huge blessing it is in my life to have the gospel in my life to help guide me. I am so thankful that I was raised in the church and I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am now serving a full time mission for my church, but before this I was a active member in my ward at home. I was also involved in scouting where I was the troop leader for two monthes, until I achieved my Eagle scout award.
