Hi I'm Carol

I believe one of the best ways to cherish someone, is to listen to their stories.

About Me

I grew up in a home rich with heritage. Our ancestors were known to us and their legacy shaped who I am today. I believe to know where we are going, we need to know where we come from. Our stories, our ancestor's stories, and the stories of our future generations are all one, big story that is woven together by the thread of our humanity. Father Abraham, and our Heavenly Father is a heritage we all share, that truly makes us a family... and family is everything!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it is the only thing that makes sense. I'm not an accident, nor do I believe any other person on this planet is either. I have a creator, and He has a plan for me - for mankind. A perfect parent would have a purpose in the heartache and suffering that is inherent in this life, He would have a plan that allows for all of His children (who choose Him) to be included, He would provide mercy and hold fast to justice, He would provide a Savior, an advocate for me, He would stand ever watchful but honor my agency, He would have an eternal plan of progression for me, He would give me commandments to teach me how to live with His other children, He would give me evidence of Him in the most quiet, deepest reaches of my soul where no other person could interfere, He would build me a beautiful world to live in and love, He would form a family around me to protect and travel through life and beyond with, He would have truth all around me but want me to look for it, He would lead me to find Him - and I have. His gospel resides in the teachings and ordinances of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is like breathing - it isn't something I have to remember to put on each day. The doctrines and Gospel of Jesus Christ are part of everything I do and feel. Every day begins with a prayer and a remembrance that He whom I pray to, is my father. My literal, Heavenly Father, who loves me, is involved in the details of my life and cares for my well-being, happiness and success. He knows better than anyone, my shortcomings and mistakes - and loves me anyway. Some of my greatest moments of peace are when I'm humble enough to ask His forgiveness for those shortcomings and mistakes. When I look at my own children, the children I teach at church, colleagues, friends, or strangers I come across in my daily comings and goings, I'm more patient and interested in their lives when I remember the same is true of them too. No matter where we come from, we come from Him first.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

It makes sense to me that as part of our progression, we needed to obtain a body. We are here on earth in that step of our progression. But our spirits are eternal and why wouldn't there be ordinances that are tied to eternity that must be obtained through a mortal body? Heavenly Father loves all of His children, whether they knew Him in this life or not. So a loving Father would provide a way for all to have saving ordinances, performed with mortal bodies, to bless us for the eternities. And as always, those ordinances are accompanied with our agency, and He would honor our choice - in this life and the next. Show more Show less
