Hi I'm Thomas Turek

My name is Thomas, I'm a missionary and I invite everybody to come unto Christ! I'm basically a Superhero -and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Thomas! (But you can call me Elder Turek.) I'm a hoodrat from St. George Utah, but I call Alpine Utah, home. I'm 19 years old, I love drawing cheesy cartoons and comics: I love animation, music, singing, photography, kickboxing, Epee Fencing, going Super Saiyen, and preaching the Gospel. My goal in life is to be a friend to everybody. My passion is making others smile! I love bringing others unto Christ, and I strive to be the best person I can be each day. I love the life I've been given, and I love the good things in life, like my family! I have a HUGE family, but it's not the stereotypical Latter-day Saint family. It's way cooler then that. I was adopted as a newborn by loving parents, and later gained a step-mother and her kids through a divorce and remarriage. So, I've got family by blood, family by sealing, and family by marriage. I'm pretty much loved. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up quite yet. But! I want to do something that helps people in some way. (i.e: Animator, Worlds best Dad, Elementary School teacher, Comedian, Pediactric Doctor, OBGYN, Super Model, Super Hero, Graphic Designer, Voice Actor, Seminary Teacher, Therapist, Olympic Fencer, Cinimetographer, Photographer.. etc.) Regardless of what I end up doing, the most important thing I can be, is a Missionary. A believer, follower, and disciple of Jesus Christ. A man that loves the Savior Jesus Christ. That is who I am, who I want to be, and who I will be.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I know with all my heart that this is the true church of Christ on the Earth today. It took me some time, and some trial, before I finally had my answer. I grew up in a pretty dysfunctional family. It was hard for me to keep my faith as a child and adolesant. I eventually, fell away from the Church. I stopped attending weekly, and lost my faith in Christ, and His teachings. I fell into a deep depression while living this life, and couldn't understand why. I felt I had no purpose in life. I felt like there was nothing in this life worth living for. In time, I was able to meet a few members of the Church, that truly lived what they believed. They showed me by their example. They were happy! There was a special light in their eyes, and a warmth to their hearts, and I wanted to be like them. That light, and warmth was Christ. I sought, long and hard, to build my faith. It took much effort on my part. Much confidence, in something, I couldn't see, or hear. I read from the Book of Mormon. I prayed daily. I changed every aspect of who I was, and sought to be the best person I could be. To get away from and the sad, and be happy! After much effort. And much prayer, and confidence in the Lord. I got my answer. I know now that God is our loving Heavenly Father. That Christ lives. That the Book of Mormon is the word of God. And that God has a plan, for us all. We have something to live for. We have a purpose. It's Him.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full-time LDS mission. (Exciting, right?!) I have been called to serve in the state of Florida, learning the Haitian Creole language. It is an incredible privilege to share the Gospel with the world, and more specifically, the Haitian people of Florida! I promised myself as a teenager that I'd: "never hesitate to teach another about Christ." And so, here am I. I can think of no better way of being a disciple, and follower of Christ, then sacrificing all of my time, talents, abilities, and life, to the Lord in serving this mission. I get to spend every single day teaching people about Jesus Christ. About the life he lived, and the infinite love he has for us. I strive each day, to live worthy, and follow the example Christ has given us.. I love my Brother Jesus Christ. I love His Gospel, I love His Church, and I love the Book of Mormon. Everyday I wake up, and get to serve Him. And, everyday I wake up, is the best day of my life. I work my hardest each day, to follow in the example Christ has set for us, and strive to be the best teacher, and missionary, I can be. I invite everybody I meet, to come unto Christ, and receive all the blessings I have been given in my life! Happiness.
