Hi I'm Wendy Nelson

I am from Keizer, Oregon. I am a student, majoring in Public Health. I love to sing and I love to learn. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Wendy. I am a university student, majoring in Public Health. I am learning Spanish. I enjoy hiking, water-sports, reading, singing, and learning and trying new things. I love the light the gospel brings to my life. I know it. I live it. I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is a wonderful organization of hope and love. This is not a church of perfect people. This church is ordained of God, as a tool to bring people to Him. This church contains the priesthood authority of God through which promises can be made for eternity. Baptism is an ordinance in which a promise is made to God, and a promise is made to the baptized. I made that promise, and I became a Mormon. In my study I have found pieces of truth and goodness in many places. There are truths you can see: like when a chemical reaction produces an explainable result. There are truths you can hear: like when a chord is sung so beautifully in tune that the overtone shines through. There are truths you can physically feel: like when penicillin conquers bacteria and your body begins to heal. In a way just as real as those "truths" are found, some of the basic truths that I have come to know are these: 1. Jesus Christ lives! He is the Savior of the world! 2. Because of Christ's Atonement, I can repent and return to live with my Father someday. 3. The priesthood authority, through which saving ordinances can made, is on the earth today! 4. That "Comforter" mentioned by Christ will bear witness to your heart of truth. As you act upon a principle of truth, testing it out, you can know that it is true. I love this gospel. I love my Savior. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

A wise follower of Christ once expressed an idea that I have tried to live by. That is, to preach the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words. I want my life to be a testament to my faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ. I study the given word of God daily. I pray morning and night. I attend church weekly and I am an active part of my church organization. I am a visiting teacher! I live with gratitude and faith. And now, I have chosen to share my faith, on an 18 month mission in California, speaking Spanish.
