Hi I'm Danny

I'm from Pocatello, ID. I am serving a full time mission in New Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Idaho where there are many trails and mountains to hike and bike. I actually don't have a lot of experience with biking, but I enjoy hiking a lot. I am outgoing and enjoy spending time with my friends, playing video/cpu games (which I am terrible at), and watching children's cartoons (i.e. Phineas and Ferb, Kim Possible, Avatar the Last Airbender), Dr. Who, and old movies like Charade, Oscar, and No Deposite No Return (because they are clean AND funny). I also read a lot, particularly Science Fiction and Fantasy. Some of my favorite series are The Belgariad and Mallorean (and almost any other book by David Eddings), The Prydain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander, Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling, Enders Game and Enders Shadow by Orson Scott Card, and other similar books. If I play a game it is probably strategy based; whether a board game, video game, or card game, I like to have to plan my moves in advance. After I serve an honorable, full time mission, I would like to go to college for a degree in Physical Therapy with a side in Massage Therapy. It's a job where I can help people and still provide a decent living for my family. I am the oldest child in a family of 6, and I have 1 sister and 2 brothers. I love them very much and do all I can to help and support them.

Why I am a Mormon

I would not be a member of this church if I didn't know it was true. I was raised LDS but in my teenage years I fell away somewhat. I only went to church because my parents made me and not for much else. A good friend of mine, one of my youth leaders challenged me to find out for myself, and I took him up on it. I read the Book of Mormon all the way through, and prayed to know if it was true. I was given to know by the power of God that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, and that the Book of Mormon is true as well. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. I know that you can know too!

How I live my faith

I live in a town where at least most people know what a mormon is, and can spot a mormon from a mile away. One of the goals I have on a daily basis is to cheer others up by giving them a smile! I know it's not much, but sometimes that is all it takes to make a person's day. I participate in my church on a weekly basis, and before I went on a mission I taught a class in my church about the teachings of the prophets. I later went on to teach people how to teach more effectively, a job I don't feel qualified for to this day. I keep working on it though! The greatest joy in teaching others about Christ is that I can share my testimony about His life and teachings, and hopefully give the Spirit of God a chance to testify as well. In my community I try to make a difference by working with charities and doing service projects.
