Hi I'm Necie

I'm a college student. I'm preparing to serve a mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Alabama, the only place I ever lived until leaving for college. For the last two years I have attended school at BYU, studying art history, and I have loved every minute of it! I enjoy art, dancing, singing, reading, sewing, and anything that has to do with being creative. I was born into the Church but have come to gain my own testimony of the gospel, and I have seen its blessings in my life and in the lives of those around me. I have been given the amazing opportunity to share those blessings with others by serving a full-time mission for 18 months. I will be serving in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East Mission, starting on October 7th 2015!

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong love of the gospel that has grown even greater over these past few years. As I have lived on my own while attending college, I have come to more fully gain my own testimony of the gospel and truly see the hand of the Lord in my life. This has strengthened me and allowed me to see how truly blessed I am to have the knowledge of the gospel and to be a member of this church. Because of that knowledge, I know the potential that we have, as human beings, to be happy in this life and in the next. Also because of this gospel, I have the ability to attain that happiness. In the world we that live in, it is easy to get lost and become confused as to what is really important. With the gospel, I don't have to.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to keep my life in harmony with the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ: daily prayer and scripture study, attending church, serving in church callings, being kind to those around me, etc. I am not always perfect, but the most important thing is always striving to be better. For the next 18 months, I will be living my faith by fully dedicating my time and talents to serving the Lord in the Dominican Republic. I will be a disciple of Christ, sharing His gospel with the people there and serving them the best that I can.
