Hi I'm Brigham

I grew up in the Long Beach, CA area. I'm a professional violist and a future music teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent graduate (Masters in Music for Viola Performance) and am finishing another Graduate Degree in Music Education. I love music. I love playing the viola. I love teaching music to others. Music is a powerful gift on earth that is there to comfort us in our everyday battles. Many may identify me as the LDS Musician who makes beautiful music with talented pianist and my good friend, Mike. He and I love to share our talents with audiences across the nation. Not only am I a musician but I am a husband to a sweet wife. She completes me. My life has been better ever since the day we got married. She and I are the youngest of our families (she comes from a family of 5 and I come from a family of 6). We are both blessed to have grown up with the Gospel in our homes. For fun, I like to play basketball, play recreational games, make an easy recipe, and catch a good movie. That is about it.

Why I am a Mormon

As I mentioned earlier, I grew up in a home where the gospel was taught but there came a moment in my life where I needed to know whether it was all true. In my first year of College, I chose to live away from home. I was no longer under the supervision of my parents. I could choose to not go to church anymore if I wanted. Nevertheless, I sought out where the church was in the area and began attending. I was in a congregation of other college students and would often talk to my peers about questions I had of the church. They helped me learn of how to gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel and to know whether the teachings in the Mormon Church were true. Being away from home and without the pressure from family, I sought out the truth for myself. I remember praying about it and coming to know for myself that the gospel was true in a way that was not spectacular but rather personal and tender. I felt that I indeed had a moment with my Heavenly Father and he blessed my humble heart to swell with an understanding of the truthfulness of the gospel and that the teachings in the Mormon church were true. Ever since that experience, I decided to devote my life in serving the Lord and increase my faith of what He wants me to know and do. I have a testimony that Heavenly Father lives and that He has a plan for us to return to Him. A major part of His plan is that we seek Him and listen to His words through His Son Jesus Christ so that by His words, we can be told how to live life accordingly in order to have everlasting life. One last thing, I am a Mormon because of the witness I received that the church is true and not merely because my name is Brigham.

How I live my faith

I was recently released from playing the piano every Sunday for the children's singing time at Church and now my wife and I are blessed to be serving as the Family History Coordinators, where we help others look into their ancestry and discover more of their family heritage. In other words, it is a way of setting up how one's life connects to a large family tree of their relatives. I live my faith by abstaining from harmful substances, explicit media content, and harming others. I live in a way that I hope others can see the light and joy I have because of the Gospel.
