Hi I'm Walker Franks

I grew up in Virginia with an incredible family and parents that taught me what was important in life.

About Me

I'm a fairly normal person. I grew up playing all kinds of sports in the backyard with my family. Sports have been a huge part of my life and have brought me closer to my family and friends. In addition to the traditional sports like soccer, tennis, basketball, and football, I've been blessed to participate in lacrosse, snowskiing, and watersports. Sports keep me active, happy, and healthy. I am enrolled in college and enjoy growing intellectually. I haven't decided on a major but I'm leaning towards something in the business field. I've always had a passion for the inner workings of business. I got my entrepreneurial start with a lawn mower as an 11-year-old. Finance and business has fascinated me ever since. What really defines me is my family. I've never been one to have a large group of friends, but I have always focused on staying close to the people I love most.

Why I am a Mormon

For much of my life, I was a Mormon because my parents were. But now I'm a Mormon because I love Jesus Christ and know that He lives. I have felt His presence and influence in my life through His messenger, the Holy Ghost. Obeying the commandments, although occasionally difficult, has brought me happiness. I know that this Gospel makes me happier here on earth, and will enable me to live with my family forever. Jesus Christ suffered for my sins and I must repay Him through my obedience and diligence in helping others come unto Him. Happiness is the name of the game! When I am more diligent in following the Gospel and doing things like praying and reading the scriptures I am happier and I am more blessed by the presence and influence of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I am blessed to live my faith in a very unique way. I am a missionary for our church and a representative of Jesus Christ. Every day for two years, I will be focusing 100% of my efforts on serving the Lord and serving my fellow man. My purpose as a missionary is "to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored Gospel." I am serving in the Texas San Antonio mission. Along with all the other 50,000+ LDS missionaries across the world, I teach the basic teachings of Jesus Christ and share the happiness that I have gained from living His commandments. This Gospel has brought true joy to my life and I get to share it with everybody!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Walker Franks
The only way to know for yourself is to "ask in faith, nothing wavering" as James 1:5-6 instruct us. As a missionary, this is one of the most important things that we share. We do not try to convince or to prove that our church is true, we invite all people to pray and to know for themselves. As Moroni 10:4 explains, the Spirit will manifest the truth of it unto you through subtle feelings in you heart and thoughts in your mind. Show more Show less
