Hi I'm Kristine Otenburg

Im a wife and mom of 4 differently made children. Im a onshore volunteer with Sea Shepherd. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Im married and a mom of 4 totally different children, ages 4-12yrs old. My 8 yr old son has high functioning Autism. My husband is not a member of the church. I got my GED when i was 21. I have lived in 5 diffrent states. I come from a military family. Been married 3 times. I like to quilt, sew, and do family history. I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease abt 4years ago. Im not able to work outside of the home, which has been a real struggle. I'm an onshore volunteer for Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. I've been looking for this church my whole life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been to a lot of different churches (Baptist, Methodist, apostolic, Pentecostal, Mennonite and Amish). When I met the missionaries I had given up hope in ever finding that right church. I knew there had to be someone that believed in what I believed. I just felt that there had to be more. I did not want to be known as a Christian, not that I didn’t believe in God. I had accepted my mothers ideas that Christians were perfect. I prayed and asked God if the book of Mormon was true and if there were really living prophets on the earth today? Awhile later a voice come to me and said “ Why would I not continue to talk to you?” And then I thought “ ya, why would he not continue to talk to us. Why would he give us the bible and say here figure it out. If he loved us so much like people said why would he leave us alone in this world. Why would he not send us living prophets to help and guide us, especially in today’s world” . When I have a bad day and I knell beside my bed its fells like I’m laying in his lap, crying and he holds me and tells me “ill be ok”. And when certain people bring up things that I’ve done in the past so they can bring the hate and bitterness back inside of me I hear a clear voice that says “all has been forgiven”.

How I live my faith

I love to do family history and indexing. Im a convert. I take every opportunity to teach or give a talk. My husband is not a member of the church and none of my family. so I'm challenged everyday to live as I know I should. I try to teach my children the gospel and to pray everyday.
