Hi I'm Shaun

I enjoy the good things in life. I especially love a great cartoon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really enjoy a good story. I believe all my interests and enjoyments are rooted in this love for a masterpiece of a tale. For this reason, going to the movies just makes me giddy with excitement, in the theater there awakens a boyish desire to be astounded, swept away on the wings of the mammoth screen. I love plays, I love reading a well-written book, and I love to take the reins and write, carving something beautiful out of the page. I truly believe that reality is more magnificent, more fantastic and more marvellous than anything we as human beings have dreamed up by novel or screen. That is because our Father in Heaven is the creator of this grand story in which we all find ourselves. His plan is wonderful, his work is astounding, and in this great history of the world, he has a wonderful finish for all who are willing to do what he asks. Of all my hopes, one of the most profound I posess is to live my life in a way that can be called worthy before his sight. I have been blessed with a great family. I have good parents. My dad is a full-time artist, and as a result I grew up in a home with grizzlies in the sitting room and roosters in the dining room. My mom is an amazing cook and is always looking to improve the home (sometimes through extensive remodeling). I am now a missionary in South Texas sharing our Heavenly Father's message and plan of happiness with others. I want others to have what I've enjoyed, and develop the perspective that eternity provides.

Why I am a Mormon

I have peace in this church. Raised in the church, I've been taught this Gospel since my childhood. Around the beginning of my teenage years, I came to face some personal challenges, and I had to find out for myself if this church truly was the way of peace and happiness. I know my Savior Jesus Christ lives, I have felt the light that can heal a sinful heart. I have felt the power of his sacrifice. We can be made clean through his atonement, and this Church, even the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints allows me to grow closer to Him. Jesus Christ is my master, my redeemer, and I love him beyond my ability to describe. That is why I am a Mormon. This is Jesus Christ's church on the earth today, restored once more to bless the lives of God's children.

How I live my faith

I have grown up in the church, and have had the opportunity to fulfill several church callings. I have led a group of boys, and later a group of young men, encouraging high standards of living. I have been a teacher for my church while going to college, and have taught younger children as their teacher for a few months as well. One way I live my faith is by being kind to others in the workplace and around school. Kindness is so important, and if we truly understand that we are all brothers and sisters, children of our Heavenly Father, we feel a strong desire to help others. This affects how we approach all our relationships. I feel very strongly that girls should be treated with the utmost respect. With all friendships that I've enjoyed, I have always done my best to lift the young women I know, and be a blessing, not a burden to those around me. I am currently living in South Texas, where I am teaching people, in their homes, about Jesus Christ and what they can do to follow his perfect example.
