Hi I'm Larissa

I am from Germany, a linguistics student, I love to travel & I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a daughter of a Brazilian mother and a German father. Having a cultural diverse family has always motiviated me to learn more about different cultures, countires, and languages. When I turned 18 I decided to go on a big adventure and moved to Scotland by myself where I lived until I was 19. One day I was surfing the internet on my computer and booked a plane ticket to Arizona, in the United States and left. Living in 2 foreign countries has definitely helped me to learn many great things, but the most important lesson I learned is to trust God in all things hat you do. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints back in Germany when I was 14 years old. This decision changed my whole life! All started with a friend sharing something about a little booklet called "For the Strength of Youth" that caught my attention. As I slowly started to make changes in my life I could feel God's love for me, I started to understand who I was, and what God's plan was for me, but most importantly how I could live a life that would allow me to reach my full potential.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that only through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ will I be able to live with God, Christ, and my loved ones again. Christ's Atonement and mercy is available for all men, but only to those who follow and accept him by living the Gospel. This is the only way we can access the Atonement. This gospel is happiness. He has a plan for each of us. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that he paid the price for me and you. I know that the scriptures, the Bible and the Book of Mormon testify of him, I know this is his restored church, and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

Something that has fascinated me from the very beginning when I first investigated the church was peoples willingness to serve one another. To me a smile, a kind act of service, or just being a good friend to someone is how I show others, and God, that I love him. One of my favorite activities to do when I while in college was to go to hospitals or care homes and to sing hymns to the sick. I loved it so much because I was able to share through hymns my love and gratitude for our Savior Jesus Christ with others. Because I know that Christ is the only way to happiness and Salvation, I decided to serve a year and a half LDS Mission from Jan 2013 - August 2014 in New Jersey. I loved being a Missionary for Jesus Christ because I got to share with everyone each day God's plan for us, and show them how much he loves his children. I know that as we strive to live a life in harmony with God's teachings, and standards given by modern day prophets, we will live a life filled with joy, peace, and happiness. I know that salvation and true happiness comes only through Christ's Atonement and Gopsel.
