I am a Mormon! I love life!

About Me

I was born to two fantastic loving parents. I was raised with two awesome brothers, and one incredible sister. I married my best friend. He is the most remarkable man on the planet. I have two beautiful and loving daughers, two magnificent son-in-laws, and three precious grandchildren. I have lived a blessed life. I consider myself very lucky. I love my family, friends, golfing, traveling, politics, and snorkeling. I love the mountains. I love beaches. I love music and I love watching NFL football games on a big TV. I love to go the movies and I love spending time with my family. I graduated with a degree in Organizational Communication. I taught high school debate for 16 years, communication courses, and Methods of Teaching Courses at Idaho State University. I love teaching!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I had two wonderful parents who taught me to kneel in prayer and talk with my Father in Heaven. I sat in church every week with my entire family and sang church hymns that touched my heart and soul and taught me eternal truths. I spent valuable time with my family learning about Jesus Christ and His gospel. I was raised by an entire village of believers who encouraged me, inspired me, and taught me to love and give. I was surrounded by friends and loved ones who cheered for me to succeed, stay on the path of good and true and right, and live a life of integrity. I am a mormon because I choose to be one. I married my best friend and the love of my life. I want to keep him for all eternity and being a mormon ensures that as a possiblity. I have witnessed the power of love, the power of prayer, and the power of sacrifice. I know that Jesus Christ loves me and knows me. I am a mormon because I have experienced the burning in my soul that assures me that Jesus Christ suffered on the cross and attoned for our sins and our mistakes to provide for us a way to live with him again one day. Most importantly, I am a mormon and will always be a mormon because I know that my Redeemer Lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to do my best to love and serve others. I truly believe that pure religion is love and service. I believe in looking for opportunites to help others, lift others, and inspire others. I never want to be one to do harm. I have been very lucky to have many opportunities to work in our community. I have witnessed the power of love through service. I have been lucky enough to see lives change because someone was showered with love and support. I worked in the Mayor's office in Idaho Falls for about 10 years. One day the Mayor, Thomas Campbell, gave me some advice that changed my way of seeing people. He said, "It doesn't matter how they feel about you, and it doesn't matter how you feel about them; The only thing that matters is how they feel about themselves when they are with you." This thought of others first quickly became a goal in my life. He was a great teacher and taught me many important life lessons. Once I quit worrying about whether or not people liked me, or I liked them...life changed. I know that we are all children of God. Others should feel good about themselves in my presence. The bottom line for me, is to strive to live the golden rule: "Treat others as you wish to be treated!" Love one another. I believe Jesus Christ set the perfect example. Reading about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ teaches me and inspires me to love others with all of my heart.
