Hi I'm Joanna

I love to run, I love music, I love my family, an I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am nineteen years old, and I am the oldest of five children in my family. I am always singing, and I have played the violin for 15 years. I love to run, dance, swim, and hike. I am on an eighteen month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am serving in the Omaha Nebraska mission, and I couldn't be more excited!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ, and both of my parents grew up in the Church too. Since I was born, I have been taught the Gospel. I chose to be Baptised when I was eight years old, and I continue to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ because of the foundation of truth it gives me. Because my parents taught me about Jesus Christ, I decided to come to know Him for myself. I decided to read the scriptures every day. I studied the Old and New Testaments, The Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price. I came to love the teachings of Christ in each of these books of scripture. As I continue to study them, I have come to have a relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because the Church has given me a foundation for this relationship with Christ, and I come to know Him better as I live the Gospel. I love the family centered teachings that has strengthened my relationship with all of my family members and drawn us closer together.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith in my daily actions- obeying my parents, serving everyone around me, participating or leading out in good wholesome activities. I live my faith by choosing good music to listen to. I live my faith by learning all I can, working hard, and loving everyone.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

I know that families can be together forever. When Jesus Christ lived on the Earth, He gave His disciple's the keys to seal husbands and wifes together for longer than life. Christ also taught that no unclean being can enter into the kingdom of God, but as each family member accepts the Atonement of Christ and freely forgives one another, they can have eternity together. Heaven would not be heaven if families couldn't be there together, so God made a perfect plan where we can choose to follow Christ and return to God as a family. Show more Show less
