Hi I'm Sterling

People say I look like Harry Potter, or the new "Amazing Spider-Man." I think I look like me, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

What's going on? I'm me and I like to do stuff... nah, I'm just kidding. My name is Sterling. I'm just a kid (Though I'm 21 I'mma be a kid forever) trying to do what my heart tells me to do. Things that my help tells me to do a lot are Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Hike, make others laugh, listen to music, look at the clouds, or just max and relax with my family. I child #3 out of 4 in my family. I have a niece and a nephew and being an Uncle is neat. Nothing puts a smile on my face like when I hear "Uncle Ster." I am currently attending a college in Central Utah right now. I have no clue what I am going to major in but if you know something that involves making kids laugh, listening to music, animals, and teaching I'm open to suggestions.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Chirt of Latter-Day Saints because it is the Lord's kingdom here on Earth. Through the Priesthood of God I am able to be forgiven of my sins each week as I take the sacrament. Through reading the scriptures I have felt God's love for me. That love has given me courage to do things I never thought I could or would do. I am a Mormon because it's simple.

How I live my faith

I participate in my congregation by teaching Sunday School to people ages 18-33. It is loads of fun. The New Testament is one of my favorite books of scripture to teach out of. I am also assingned to a smaller congregation that is at a major hospital in Central Utah. If a member of our church is in the hospital (Janitor, Doctor, Nurse, Patient) and is not able to attend their own congregation they come to the services we hold and are able to take the Sacrament, listen to some short sermons, and a short musical number. If the patient is not phyically able to come down to the chapel we go to them. We bless and pass the sacrament to them and share a brief spirtual message with them. The people that we visit when we go room to room are not always in the best of mood but when we leave they always have a smile on their face. Being able to lift their spirits always gives me a great feeling of peace.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Sterling
Though it is my belief, Christ's mission and the church He established did not end on the cross. The organization that Christ set up was to continue on till he came again. Though that organization was gone today it has been restored to us again through an ordained witness of Christ. That person is a Prophet. After Christ left Peter was the chief apostle (and though it is debated among some) and Prophet. He had 12 Apostles to assist him in the assignment God had given him to "feed My lambs." There is a Prophet on the Earth today along with 12 Apostles to help the modern day prophet feed Christ's lambs. Show more Show less
