Hi I'm Cody

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am a convert of almost 4 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Religion was not something that was talked about while I was growing up. Growing up in Arizona I knew a lot of Mormons and was friends with them. My mother too is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but has not been active since her childhood years. When I entered my High School Years, I began to think about the purpose of life and if there was any point in my existence. It was at this time that I started my first job. At this particular job there were lots of "Mormons" who also worked there. I began talking with them and they helped me in my journey to the truth. Today I have been a member for almost 4 years. I have recently returned from serving a full-time mission in the Philippines. Now, I am currently a working student. I love to play tennis, non-competitive and hang out with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

When I first started learning about the Church in greater detail, I became defensive on certain issues such as living prophets, tithing, The Book of Mormon and the abstaining of coffee and tea. I would usually argue my point of view with my co-workers who were LDS. Eventually my heart became softened and I came to realize that this was the truth. I then started meeting with the missionaries. It was a difficult process. My father had been trying to convince me that the decision I was about to make was wrong and that my family would be very displeased. I avoided telling anybody in my family except my father and mother. My mother supported my choice but my father did not. However, I relied on the things I had felt and the knowledge I had obtained and made the choice to be baptized in December of 2008 at the age of 18. It has been the best choice I have made for my life and I am happy to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That choice has forever changed who I am and who I will become. This is the true and living church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. There is a living prophet by the name of Thomas S. Monson who leads and guides us today through this world of chaos and confusion. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and by reading it we can become closer to Him and get the answers we seek. God lives and so does His son Jesus Christ. They are always there for us no matter what.

How I live my faith

I try to be the best example to others. I do my best to follow the example of Jesus Christ in order to help others. While serving my mission in the Philippines there was always opportunities for us to serve the community. We were always offering to help others with anything no matter how small the service. Before my mission, I was an assistant in teaching the children about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I enjoy helping others come unto Jesus Christ and learning about their true relationship to Him.
