Hi I'm Nancy

I enjoy baking, scrapbooking, reading, shopping, sewing and watching a good, sappy movie. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother of five and a grandmother of two. I have been blessed to be a stay-at-home mother for more than twenty years. We have only two children living at home now, with one of them getting ready to head out to college. I thought I would dread this stage, but it's fun to see our kids becoming independent, pleasant and productive adults. Plus, grandkids come into the picture! Being a gramma is my newest, favorite title!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that everyone is a beloved son or daughter of God. Because of that, I know that God has sent each of us here on earth for a specific purpose. I was raised in the church and didn’t have any reason to doubt the things that my parents taught me. When I was in fifth grade, though, I had a specific prayer answered in a way that was very powerful to me. It was the first time I really knew that God was aware of me and my concerns and was able to answer me in a way that I had no doubt. I have tried to apply the principles that Jesus taught, as well as modern-day prophets, to my life. I feel that through application of those principles I have avoided a lot of heartache in my life. Of course, I still have challenges, but knowing that God has a plan for me and for my family brings me great comfort. I am grateful that God has given us guidelines through scripture and modern prophets as well as our own communication with Him through prayer.

How I live my faith

Everything good comes from Christ, so I try to stay involved in "good" things. I volunteer at the school. I participate in humanitarian projects that help others in our community with basic needs. At church, I currently work as the president of the women's organization within our congregation. It is an awesome responsibility that I gladly share with other wonderful ladies who help me with the organization's goals. The goals are: 1) increase faith and personal righteousness, 2) strengthen families and homes and 3) seek out and help those in need. I love the women at church. They are a great example to me of service and kindness to one another. When we come together, we really lend support to one another. I make a conscious effort to be kind to everyone I meet--at the grocery store, at the post office, etc. After all, everyone is a child of God, just like me.
