Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a social work student, I love helping people, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi there, I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the New Jersey Morristown Mission. I have been in school getting a degree in social work, and I absolutely love helping people and being around them. I am the second of four kids and spending time with my family is one of my favorite thing to do. I love life, cooking, and learning. I love having the chance to serve those I meet and being able to make a difference in the lives of those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a part of this church, and I have always loved it! When I was a teenager I started to see the blessings associated with living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I struggled through a lot of different things as a child and teenager, and the gospel of Christ is what gave me hope in my life and in the future. Ever since that time, I have seen and experienced the joy and happiness that comes from choosing to follow Christ, and following His example. I love my Savior Jesus Christ, I love how happy I am because of His teachings, and I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I have tried to live a life of service, I love helping people, and I love having the chance to learn and grow from those around me. For the last couple of years, I have had the great opportunity to serve as a Sunday school teacher. As I have done this, I have not only been able to strengthen my faith in the Savior, but I have been able to learn more of His teachings by studying the scriptures, and then I have been able to share what I have learned with those around me. Most recently, I have been called to serve a mission for the church. I have chosen to give my time and my life for the next year and a half to the Lord. I am grateful for the great blessing that it is to be able to serve, and I can't wait to be able to share what I believe with the people around me.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Brooke
What are Mormon women like? That is a great question! I can speak from personal experience when I say that they are amazing and wonderful, and I aspire to be like them! I have grown up as a member of the church, and I have had the oppourtunity to be surrounded by these awe inspiring women. They exemplify what it means to be a true leaders and dedicated diciples of Jesus Christ. Many times I have been asked if the Mormon church believes in equality of men and women, and I want to answer with a resounding, YES! When I hear people say the women of the church are put down and submissive to the men, it breaks my heart. I feel empowered to be a women in the Mormon church who has learned what it means to be strong, righteous, and dedicated to a good cause. I am proud to be a member of a church that not only loves and respects women, but teaches the girls growing up in this world how to become strong, dedicated leaders with high moral standards that others can respect and look to as examples.
