Hi I'm James

I am a Boise State fanatic. I love pizza and ice cream. I am currently serving a mission in Denmark, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love everything about sports; both playing them and watching them. Most people tell me that of the two loves, I'm much better at just watching... but I still love to suit up and participate in any pickup game around. Basketball, football, soccer, ultimate frisbee, you name it, I'll play it. I've also become a self-imposed sports fanatic, and due to 4 knee surgeries I've had the chance to watch my fair share of ESPN. My greatest love is watching the Broncos of Boise State. If you've noticed someone East of the Atlantic clad in the blue and orange of Boise State, then chances are we've met. My other hobbies include eating and spending time with my family; which is good because those are easily combined! I also enjoy music, and can plunk out a few songs on the piano. I attend BYU, and before leaving to serve a mission for the church, I was able to do a year of school there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this church, so my own faith started almost before I can remember. God has always played a huge role in my life, and I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me very much. Eventually everyone begins to search for truth and meaning in their lives, and the same thing happened while I was young. While the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had always been a big part of my life, I didn't know for myself if it was true. My testimony of the Church came slowly through searching, pondering, and prayer. Eventually I came to a knowledge of the truth by living the teachings and obeying the principles that the church teaches. When I listen to and follow the leaders of the Church, I can feel the peace it brings to my life, and I have experienced all of the blessings God promises when we follow His chosen and inspired leaders. Through scripture study in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Latter-Day revelation, I have learned about God's plan for me, and what I can do to experience lasting joy. Through fervent prayer I have learned of Gods endless mercy and love for me. I am a Mormon because I know that this is His Church, I know that this is what He wants for me, and I've experienced the blessings that come from it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. By following His teachings I try as hard as I can to love everyone around me, forgive those who make mistakes, and do my best to lend a helping hand wherever I can. None of us are perfect, and a lot of times I am not as good at living my faith as I wish I could be. Another aspect of my faith is applying Christ's wonderful sacrifice for each and every one of us by repenting of the things I do wrong and recommitting to be better. As I've lived the principles of faith which I hold dear to me, my life has been enriched and I have been incredibly blessed. I've seen what my faith has donen in my life, and I've tried to share that with others. I am currently living in Denmark for two years in order to help people understand my faith better, as well as give them the opportunity to increase their own faith and see the blessings that come from doing so. That is another aspect of living one's faith that I havce been a part of -- sharing it with others. I have seen the lives of many people changed for the better as they begin to grow in their own faith, and that has been one of the sweetest esperiences of my life.
