Hi I'm Steven Evans

I grew up in Frazier Park, California. I love to serve and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Steven and I am from a really small town in a mountain area in Southern California. I grew up always learning how to have fun, either with my friends, doing outdoor activities or sports. I have completed about 3 semesters of college, two at BYU-Idaho and one at a community college in California. I am the youngest of six children and we were all born into the gospel. I have never been one of those kids growing up that would get strait A's or be really strong in the church. I got my own testimony when I was 16 years old. I knew that the church was true through the whispering of the Holy Spirit. I have been through trials and have overcome them and I will continue to face them. I know I haven't had the hardest life but I know that with the gospel in my life I can overcome any obstacles that my come my way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon not because I was born into the church but because I chose to be in this church at an older age when I developed my own testimony. The way I look at it is, once I knew that this was Gods church and this is where I was suppose to be, everything else fell into place. Being a Mormon is the best thing that has ever happend to me.

How I live my faith

The LDS church is not a easy church to be in, that is a fact. It is although the best and only church on the earth today that has the fulness of the gospel which God gave to us directly through Joseph Smith. This is not a church where you can come to church, pray and ask for forgiveness then continue your week continuing doing the things you know you are not suppose to do. I live my faith by and through the gospel and no other way. I have been asked from my non LDS friends how I can stand so many rules and restrictions. I replied they are not all rules and restrictions but rather than privileges and counsel to help me live my life the best way I can. I don't understand how a church can function without at least some rules and restrictions. The best way I can describe how I live my faith is by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
