Hi I'm Katie-Anne Garrett

I am from the small town of Kimberly, Idaho. I am a BYU Nursing student who loves to travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am loving life as a college student. I am studying Nursing. I love my major. I am learning new skills to serve God's children. I enjoy music in many forms: playing the piano, musicals, theatre, singing, concerts, etc. I love to cook and bake as a past time. And I especially love to travel. I spent a summer in Singapore volunteering at a hospice and a home for the disabled. I also spent a semester studying abroad in Italy. Each place was unique and wonderful. i loved learning about Heavenly Father's love for each of His children. I love seeing different parts of the world, and by so doing discovering new people, cultures, and perspectives. I was able to marry in one of God's temples to a wonderful Man, Sam. We were able to be sealed together, which means our love for each other and our family will continue through eternity.

Why I am a Mormon

I am so grateful to be member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Being a member is my source peace and happiness. I grew up with my family attending church and practicing the faith in our daily lives. Our home was full of happy memories because we tried our best to live the teachings of Christ. The first time I read the Book of Mormon on my own was a special experience. I was able to have a reconfirmation for myself of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was able to learn more about my Savior, his life and teachings, his sacrifice and love for me. With this knowledge of who He is, I know who i am and what my purpose is here in this life, and in the next. I am a Child of God. Knowing this I feel such peace. Someone is always there for me, to guide me in my decisions, to protect me from harm, to listen to my complaints and bring comfort, and to give me hope. It makes me want to be a better person. I know that Christ lives and that He cares for each of us. I know the Book of Mormon is true, because when I live its teachings I feel peace and love in that lifestyle, and these feelings are from the Holy Ghost testifying to me of its truthfulness. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today. He is the mouthpiece of the Lord. I am so grateful for that direct communication. I know that this church is the true church. This is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

To help serve and participate in church, I am the secretary in the Relief Society in my ward. I believe Relief Society is a divine organization of women. I am grateful to be able to strengthen and be strengthened by other women of my faith. I get to serve as a visiting teacher to women in the ward. I have built many friendships and have felt of God's love for individuals. I also live my faith my studying God's word, praying, and doing my best to strengthen my family, and serve all those around me.
