Hi I'm Steven Gabbitas

I was born and raised in California. I was home-schooled my entire life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a full-time mission. I attended four years of early morning seminary. I enjoy running and swimming. I love reading. My favorite book is Dicken's Tale of Two Cities. My family loves to go on vacation to the mountains and the beach. It's so much fun. If I were a food, I would be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. But I have found out for myself that this is Christ's church restored on the earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. When I was about nine years old, I read the Book of Mormon from start to finish. The night I finished, I had this feeling that it was the word of God, that Joseph Smith did translate the book and restore this church on the earth again. Throughout my life this testimony has continued to grow as I've seen the blessings of the Lord in my life.

How I live my faith

I am serving a full-time mission. For two years I will be teaching and helping people come closer to Jesus Christ.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Steven Gabbitas
The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets who lived on the American continent. The Lord led Lehi, one of the prophets, there around 600 B.C. They became a great civilization. God continued to call prophets and these kept the record. One of the last of these prophets was Mormon, for whom the book is named. The prophets testified of Christ before He came to earth. The Book of Mormon contains an account of Jesus Christ, after He was resurrected, appearing to the people in America and teaching His Gospel. The Book of Mormon is filled with teachings of Christ and His Atonement. It supports the Bible. By sincerely praying, those who want to know for themselves that this book is true can by the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
