Hi I'm Jake Thorpe

I live in Barcelona, Spain. I love basketball, music, friends, family, and food! I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 4 children. I am what you would call the burnt pancake. I have the greatest and most supportive family in the world! I love sports: basketball, football, golf, and fly fishing. I graduated from Orem High in 2012 (Go Tigers!). I am an avid Jazz fan and all things BYU, where I studied before the mission. Chess is a secret talent of mine. Laughter is the best medicine. I love snowcones in the summer, live concerts, and midnight del taco runs. I´ll try any food once. I believe that it is not where we are but where we are going that matters. Miracles are a constant, if we have faith! I am now serving as a full time missionary in El Faro, the Spain Barcelona mission. I love learning from other people, camping, and eating my Mom´s no-bake cookies. But more than anything else, I love this Gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a witness of the truthfulness of this gospel through the Holy Ghost. I have felt the joy and peace that comes from abiding by the principles and doctrines within the Book of Mormon. I have felt the cleansing, enabling power of the Atonement. I have seen the Lord's hand in my life. I know that nobody has ever read the Book of Mormon, asked if it was true with real intent, and not received an answer. There never has been, and there never will be. God is a loving God that wants us to have the joy of this Everlasting Gospel. I have asked Him and He has answered me!

How I live my faith

I try to influence those around me in a way that will make them better. I feel like everybody deserves a friend, and I try my best to make an effort to love and accept everybody. Right now, though, I am preparing to go on a mission to Spain! I'm so excited and eager to share with the world what I know to be hold true. Two years is a long time, but I literally owe everything I have and everything I am to the Lord.
