Hi I'm Bekah

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love sports, colors, random trivia, and being a sister and an aunt. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently working and going to school full-time. I absolutely love the college life and have fun with all my roommates all the time. I am majoring in History, especially dealing with family history. I have a superb memory and can remember the most random trivia, especially when it comes to television shows or movies. I love music and can play the piano fairly well. I find joy in the small things in life, like chocolate, movies, and the comic strip Calvin & Hobbes. I love to laugh, and not afraid to laugh at the things I find funny. I love spending my time with my family, especially my niece. They are the most important people in my life. I love serving others when I can and sometimes that can mean be bringing over some sort of baked food to do so!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives me joy. The feelings of peace and happiness that I get when I read the Book of Mormon and attend church, cannot be found anywhere else. The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ and I know that I would be lost without it. I find joy because I am a daughter of God and He loves me. God loves me and everyone else so much that He sent His son, Jesus Christ to die for us and atone for the sins of the world. He did that so we can return to live with Him again. He cares and is aware of every single pain, physical and spiritual, that we have gone through and is always there for us. His arms are open and He is always there to give us a hand, pick us up, and carry us when we can't go anymore. Recently my dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer. He was able to get it removed and is now in remission, but at the time the only thing that kept me going was my testimony of this gospel. Christ had to pick me up and carry me until I was able to walk once more. I find joy in the fact that my family can never be separated by the pains of death because they were married as a family for time and all eternity in one of our temples. Even if my father had died, I would still be okay because we are a forever family. Nothing would ever be able to separate us, even death. I know that this church is true and I know it because I feel it in my heart every single day. No matter what happens to me in this life, I know that I will be okay because of this knowledge that I have. I know that I can be with my family forever because of what Heavenly Father and Christ have done for me and because of this gospel. This gospel brings me joy and I will never part from it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being the person I know Christ would want me to be. My faith is central to my life and I know that I would be so unhappy without it. I love going to church every Sunday. I consider it one of the highlights of my week because I feel that when I go, I am starting out the rest of the week just right. I try to help out whenever I can by participating in my callings in church. Right now, I am in the Family Indexing program which means I help digitize records so that people can search them online to do their family history. I try to do my best and follow in Christ's footsteps. My ultimate goal is to be able to lift others up and give them the help that they need as we all navigate some of the harder parts of life. I am a truthful person with integrity that I try to model after Christ. I am in no way perfect, but I do try to live my life as the best person that I can be, with my anchor in Christ and his love that he has for me.
