Hi I'm Jordan Dowdle

I love tennis. I am from Sherwood, Oregon. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently serving a full time mission in the Bolivia, Santa Cruz mission. I grew up in the southwest Portland metro area. I love tennis and most sports, guns, freedom and my family. I am the second oldest of seven kids with the possibility of more on the way! I have two baby sisters who capture my heart every time I look at them and I miss them dearly.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the faith but that doesn't mean I was born with a testimony, I still had to get one. In order to do so I prayed to God almighty to know if the Book of Mormon is true and his holy spirit testified of the truthfulness of the book. My parents had already taught me God's commandments and unfortunately, through experience, I have come to find that true happiness comes only through complete obedience. My earthly life would be much harder if I did not have the righteous standard of the Lord to guide my actions. Satan's plan is indulgence, guilt, misery and condemnation. God's plan is obedience and happiness. The latter is a much better choice.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly trying to be like Jesus Christ. He is the central focus of my worship and the adoration of all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Because we are trying to return to live with our Father in Heaven clean and pure, but frequently fall short and sin, I strive to repent of my sins, which are any actions that separate me from Heavenly Father. Ultimately, what makes us sad in this life is our own personal sin; breaking the commandments makes us miserable and separates us from God. At the great and last day of judgement we CANNOT expect to live with God again if we have not done what he has asked us to do, in this respect God is a God of justice because he "cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance." He is a God of mercy because he has given us the sublime gift of his son Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came to the earth to atone (suffer or pay the price of) for all mankind's sin. If we repent, Christ can and will help us to become free of sin, purifying our souls, and making us fit for the Kingdom of God. I live my religion by repenting of my sins and exhorting my fellow men to do the same. I know that we make Heavenly Father happy by doing what he desires us to do, and this is turn makes us happy too.
