Hi I'm Karl James Long

I grew up in Kirtland NM, I am currently serving in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission

About Me

I am a missionary in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission. I grew up in a great home and have been a member my whole life. i graduated from Kirtland Central High School (in Kirtland New Mexico) in 2012. My family and friends are the best people ever and have helped me so much. I enjoy to hang out with my friends and watch movies or play games with them. I also enjoy camping and fishing (because camping and fishing go hand-in-hand). I plan on going to BYU after the mission, but i don't know what i want to do as a career yet. I am really bad at making decisions, and i am just a happy guy. I do a lot of stupid things, and i enjoy laughing (mostly at myself). Also i would just say that my family could be on a sit-com because they are just hilarious. And that is my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I Karl was born of goodly parents. by that i mean that i grew up in the church. i didn't realize until seminary that the gospel really helps. i started to read the Book of Mormon, i would listen in church, i started to feel happy all of the time and most importantly i prayed to know the truth and that was when i gained a testimony for myself that this gospel is true. i can't really explain all of my feelings, but i know for sure that this gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I currently live my faith as a missionary for the church. if that isn't enough i would also say that i love my mission, and am doing my best to be obedient to the rules. I am a strong believer in the fact that a testimony comes through acting, by that i mean that we need to do something in order to receive a witness for our-self. My family is strong in the church, but i can't lean on them for a testimony. I have learned a lot from my parents and church leaders, but true learning comes from the Holy Ghost. my testimony has grown tremendously on my mission and i just feel guilt when i look back at hundreds of chances i have had that i failed to act on, but i have learned from them and will use that knowledge for the future. In my missionary white handbook i have the phrase "NO REGRETS" written in the front cover so that i can look to that for strength. i want to look back on my mission and feel like i did all that i could for the people who i am called to help down here. I know this church is true and i strive to live it every day.
