Hi I'm Mackenzie

I teach ballet. I recovered from an eating disorder. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an undergraduate social work student. I learned that I wanted to be a social worker through my love to volunteer. I learn so much from the children, families, and organizations with whom I have come in contact. I teach ballet to young aspiring dancers and perform with them at their performances. After years of remaining silent, I have begun to share my story of how my faith in Jesus Christ helped me overcome an eating disorder.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have always known that the goal of this life is to prepare to return to our Father in Heaven. Though difficult to have this eternal perspective at all times, I continue to keep faith in Lord Jesus Christ as the bedrock of my testimony. I keep a picture of the temple in my room to help me keep this perspective. Knowing that the Lord loves me and wants me to return to our Heavenly Father has given me the hope to press forward, with a steadfastness in Christ. Even during the most difficult of circumstances, I know the Lord loves me.

How I live my faith

I attend a Young Singles Adult ward where I work with all the women in the ward where I oversee their welfare, both spiritually and temporally. I spend time with the sisters each Sunday and throughout the week, helping them recognize their divine worth and potential. Though I am not perfect, I know that through the Spirit, they will know their Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ love them.
