Hi I'm Jake

I'm easy on the eyes, swift like a banjo solo, chill like a hobo, needy like knobby knees, happier than most because I'm...MORMON!

About Me

I'm self taught Guitar, Piano, Ukelele, Mandolin, Beat-Boxer. I like Gaming, People, and Laughing! Walks are sweet, running sucks, cars are the best. Chocolate waffles are great. Zelda is freaking hot(the game, not the girl...although....).

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. Semantically speaking, that made me "Mormon" as a kid. It wasn't like that growing up though. I didn't really think I could be anything else until I was already a man! (Batman reference) I've looked at nearly every other religion and studied with more preachers and rabbis then I care to mention. Even growing up in the church, I had questions about our own beliefs that confused me. The reason I'm Mormon is because I believed that if there was a church that God wanted me to stick with then he would tell me if I asked him. James 1:5 states, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.", that scripture is seriously one of the Mormon Church's most used scripture because of what it entails. It means that God is always listening to you and cares about what you care about, it means that if you ask a question that means a lot to you, then He will answer it. Heavenly Father loves us and loves the things that we love. I am Mormon because he answered my prayers.

How I live my faith

A few years ago, I might have said doing good things and being nice to others was how I lived my faith, though those things are good, there's more to it. I live my faith by being a good thing! Christ has laid out a plan that allows for each of us to be like Him! We can become the very essence that makes up his being. Not only do I want to serve others, I want to be happy while doing it! There is of course much more to it than service but only through service do we get to live like Christ!
