Hi I'm Sarah

I grew up in Texas and I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Katy, Texas, but have traveled all over the world, including China, New Zealand, Norway, Hungary, and Costa Rica. I am a junior in college majoring in chemical engineering. I love to stay active by playing soccer, running, skiing, and swimming.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was eight years old, I chose to be baptized and become a Mormon. I was born and raised in the church, and I learned from my parents the blessings, happiness, and peace that comes from being a member. I continue today to follow His gospel because of the direction and purpose it gives to my life. Having a full knowledge of His gospel motivates me everyday to choose the right, and gives me a hope for the future. I know that the Book of Mormon is a true book written for our day and translated by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that through the ordinances of the gospel, my family can live together forever. I know that I am a daughter of God, that He loves me and listens and answers my prayers. I know Christ suffered and died for my sins so that I can continually progress spiritually. I know that He understands everything I go through, and can help me through my trials. I am so glad I have this testimony because it brings me so much happiness. No matter what is happening in my life, I know the church and the gospel will always be there to get me through.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by doing the little things to be kind to others and by looking for ways to serve those around me. I try to be a good example and hold to my values at all times. I pray to be able to apply the Savior's teachings in my life. In my work and academic setting, I live my faith by having integrity in all that I do. I am also actively involved in the women's group at church, including visiting and teaching certain sisters monthly, and attending Sunday meetings. I look for ways to use my talents to serve others and make my family a priority in my life.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Mormons believe that we came here to Earth to be tested. We have been given agency, and while on Earth, we learn how to use it to choose between good and evil. We also believe that the family unit is eternal in nature, and that we came to Earth to be part of a family, and to form our own family. While we go through trials on Earth, we are gaining experiences that build character and help us grow spiritually. Our goal is eventually to become more like Heavenly Father, and through faith, repentance, and endurance, we can get there. Show more Show less
