Hi I'm Marissa

I'm a mother of four young boys and a baby girl. I love mathematics and genealogy. My passion is learning. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I have five children 7 and under and love it. I get to stay home and play with them every day. I love learning and love to share that with my children. My four oldest are boys, so I get to learn lots about trucks, bugs, and dinosaurs. My girl is a baby so I am looking forward to learning all things girl too. I grow a garden and use the produce to feed my family all year long. I love learning how to do more with less in every aspect of my life. My favorite thing to do in my spare time is learn about my ancestors. I love discovering their stories through documents, photos, and stories. I also love to share these beloved stories of my ancestors with my family. Something else I like to do when I can is to help neighbor kids and if course my own children to understand thier math homework.

Why I am a Mormon

The simple answer is that I was raised a Mormon and I've never had the desire to live any other way. I've watched people with out the Gospel of Jesus Christ in thier lives wander through life searcing for purpose and direction. The Gospel gives me that purpose and direction. The values we live by keep me safe, healthy, and happy. The programs of the Church help me be better in all aspects of my life. I believe that there is no better environment to raise children than with the values and lifestyle than that of a Mormon. I believe that God wants us to be happy and He has given us commandments and responsibilities to help us be happy.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not just a part of who am. It is who I am.This means that I endeavor to be better in ever aspect of my live every day. I try to be a better example to my children than I was yesterday. I aim to make better choices each day. I seek things that improve the value of my life. I make an effort to be a happier person than I was yesterday. I search for ways to better serve my neighbors, friends, and family. I strive to be more like my Savior, that I may be worthy to be called His child and receive the blessings promised the righteous.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The first covenant, or promise, that we make as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that of baptism. Shortly following that, we are given the Gift of the Holy Ghost through the priesthood. This gift helps us keep our covenants. The Holy Ghost helps us feel at peace when we are choosing the right. The Holy Ghost helps us make big and little decisions. The Holy Ghost testifies of all truth. The Holy Ghost helps us to feel happy. When you have felt the influence of the Holy Ghost in your life, you want to live worthy to always feel that peace and joy. Show more Show less

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Our Father in Heaven, gave us the opportunity of being able bring children into this world. We each get to choose when to use this God-given power. For me the choice that matters is the choice to put yourself in a situation that might get you or your partner pregnant. At conception, a life is involved and your choice should now be how you will support the life you created. Show more Show less
