Hi I'm Joshua

I grew up in North Carolina. I love learning about other cultures, ESPECIALLY languages. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to crack jokes and can act like a goof-ball quite a bit. Right now, I am a freshman in college! I managed to get two semesters in, and am one measley credit away from being considered a "sophomore." I am not done with school, but I am going on my Mission within the coming month and am so excited! I love to do lots of things in my freetime. I love to play soccer and tennis while outside. I have played for many different teams and have had varying levels of accomplishments. I love to hang out with friends and do crazy things like cliff jumping! I love to read, and reading is probably my most performed activity. The Sherlock Holmes series is one of my favorites. I also have lots of books on different languages...it's one of my dreams to become a linguist and know at least 5 or more languages fluently. Lots of work, and highly improbably, but still a dream. I also love to play the guitar, although I am not the best by far.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to follow in the footsteps of the Savior by being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There are so many benefits to the Gospel that promote excellent morales and good character. From everything I have been taught, I have learned many things about the Church. The Church promotes The Book of Mormon to be ANOTHER (not a replacement) Testament of Jesus Christ, a latter day Prophet, displaying Christ-like attributes, treating our bodies as something sacred, and deterring from the use of substances and performing acts that can damage the body. I have read the Book of Mormon, and pondered and prayed and I have now come to realize of the truthfulness behind it and know it to be true.

How I live my faith

There a quite a few things on living my faith. One of the biggest things I believe, is by my example. Keeping a clean body, avoiding foul/offensive language, not participating in shady/illicit dealings, working my hardest 100% of the time, etc. In church there also several things that I have do. I have a calling as a ward missionary and have often gone out with full-time missionaries to talk about our beliefs and why we love the Gospel, and think anyone in the world would too. I perform my home-teaching duties as well. Every month, we are supposed to visit our assigned families and bring the spirit into the homes as we teach a short and brief message; we also check up on them and make sure everything is alright, and ask if there is ANY way that we can help if there is a problem.
