Hi I'm Jenni

I am happily married. I'm a new mom and a first grade teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for almost 4 years and we have a 4 month old little girl. My husband is in school right now, but he is graduating in just a couple months- man am I excited about that! I graduated college a year after we got married and was absolutely terrified of getting a real job. I had studied to be a teacher, but felt super unprepared to actually BE a teacher. I was sort of hoping I would not get hired anywhere and would have to find something less scary to do. So it came as quite a surprise to me when I actually did get hired. I was scared out of my mind, but I took the job and now I am so glad that I did. I love teaching! I teach 1st grade and the kids are so much fun to be around. Of course I am really looking forward to summer, and the chance to stay home with my baby. Truly life did not happen quite the way I thought it would, but I am so glad about that!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a home where the Gospel of Jesus Christ was taught and lived. My parents tried to teach me to have faith in Christ and to do what He would want me to do. We read the scriptures together, went to church each week and prayed often as a family. There was never a question in my mind about whether or not Christ was truly the Son of God, or whether or not the Gospel was true, because of the way that participating in those things made me feel. I felt good, and happy, and I knew that something wrong, couldn't give me feelings that were so right. Later on in life, I decided I wanted to go on a mission to teach the Gospel to others in the world. It was a wonderful experience and further solidified the belief I have that this is the Lord's church on the earth. It always amazes me how the more I put my faith in the Lord, the happier I feel. And the more I try to do what I think the Lord would have me do, regardless of how hard it may be, the more He blesses me. I truly believe that God does indeed love us, and that He wants us to be happy. I know that by doing our best to follow His commandments and to learn and live Christ's teachings, we will be happier in our lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to help those around me to be happy. I believe that God wants all his children to be happy and to feel His love. I don't do anything out of the ordinary, but I try to have a positive, happy outlook, and to encourage others to do the same. I believe that the attitude we have can have a positive affect on the situations that we find ourselves in. I once heard the saying "Life is like a mirror, it only smiles when you do." I believe that, and I believe that as we try to find the positive, regardless of what is happening, the Lord will help us to see it, and will help us through whatever comes our way.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Jenni
Having faith in Jesus Christ means that you trust in Him, and that you are willing to do what He asks, regardless of what happens. For me, my faith in Jesus Christ has blessed my marriage greatly. Though my marriage is a very happy one, no marriage is without hardships. Whenever my husband and I have had struggles, however hard they may be, they never last, and have not damaged the love that we share because we trust in the Savior and believe in the power that He has to heal our hearts and help us to be better people. Because of the faith in Christ that my husband and I have, our trials have truly brought us closer to each other, and have strengthened the faith that we already had. Show more Show less
