Hi I'm Mary

I was born and raised in southern Ohio. I love photography, cooking, and running. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love learning! During four years of university studies, my interests ranged from linguistics, to ceramics, to logic, to psychology. I enjoy reading and seeing how all of the information I acquire relates to each other and builds upon my understanding of the world. I love creating, whatever the medium- photographs, paper, food, fabric, jewelry, paint, words. When I need time to myself to sort my thoughts, I either go for a run or write in my journal.

Why I am a Mormon

In my youth I was a Mormon because two missionaries gave their time and effort to teach my family the message of this restored gospel. As an adult, I choose to remain a Mormon because I see the blessings of peace and direction that come into my life as I follow the principles and promises of God taught in the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have tested God's promise that He will bless me for my obedience and for following the path Jesus Christ has shown, and He has proven Himself again and again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by seeking to understand what I believe and WHY I believe as I do. I share that faith by teaching the young, single adults in my area. I also organize activities for the women in our local church group where they have the opportunities to socialize, build their faith, and learn homemaking skills.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Mary
We only worship God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ. But we feel love and reverence toward Joseph Smith. I am grateful for all he gave to accomplish God's work for Him. He spent his life doing what he felt was God's work for him, and ultimately gave his life for this cause which has blessed and guided my life incalculably. For that reason, I think and speak of him with greatest appreciation and honor, but I do not worship him. Show more Show less
