Hi I'm Kirsa

I majored in special education. I play the flute and tap dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of three girls. I just graduated with a degree in special education with an emphasis in severe/profound disabilities. I have been playing the flute for ten years and tap dancing for seven. I love to read and am completely obsessed with Disney movies. I am also a few short days away from serving a mission for this church to tell everyone I meet about the joy I find in the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

We live in a pretty messed up world. Everyday, there are crimes, disasters, accidents, and all sorts of other tragedies. People are hurting and looking for answers to life's questions and why these things happen. This church has prophets and apostles called by God to help us find these answers. We have eternal truths that go deeper than anything that happens in day-to-day life. They provide a safe haven from the storm. I am a Mormon, because it is my rock. With it, I don't have to worry. I am at peace. I am indescribably happy. I feel God's love.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the standards of the church. I also try to follow the teachings of Christ- kindness, love, charity, repentance, forgiveness, and others- every day of my life. One of the biggest ways to live my faith I think is through service, whether it be teaching the 10-12-year-olds in the church, performing at a nursing home, or being a listening ear for youth when they need to talk. I had the opportunity to spend six months of my life in another country volunteering in an orphanage for children with disabilities and a children's hospital with children there without parents. Every day, I was with children who were hurting and in need of love in a way most of us could never comprehend. It sounds crazy- but there was such an environment of peace there. That's because I could feel the love God had for these children as I held their hands and dried their tears. It made me realize that a big reason we are here on this earth is to serve others so that they can also feel God's love. That is how we worship and show our love for God- by showing that love to others and following the teachings of Christ.
