Hi I'm Rachel

I love dancing in the car, taking pictures of sunsets, and going on adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior in college, looking forward to getting a master's degree in dietetics. Being away at school has been wonderful and difficult all at the same time. I enjoy learning about the world around me, making new friends, and trying new things. However, it is a challenge to be far away from my family. I miss my parents, my brothers and sisters, and my nieces and nephews every day. Although school brings its challenges, I am grateful for the opportunity to study and learn new things. For the next 18 months, I will be experiencing the new adventure of serving a mission in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the knowledge of the gospel brings me peace. Although I cannot be with my family every day right now, because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I can be with them forever after this life. The gospel gives me purpose, identity, and happiness. I know I am here on Earth at this time to better myself and work toward becoming like my Heavenly Father. Through Christ, I know all things are possible.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to apply the things I learn through scripture study and prayer in serving those around me. Being a member of the church has given me many opportunities to serve. I have had the opportunity to interact with and learn from many different people as I have attended church in Idaho, Utah, and served as a missionary in Minnesota. From my experiences I have learned that as we reach outward in service to others, our hearts are changed and we become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. I'm not perfect but I try to do my best. And I know that the power of the atonement to change us is real.
