Hi I'm Jacob

I'm from Idaho. I love sports and laughing, talking to people and being happy. I'm Mormon.

About Me

I love playing sports, especially football. I love playing ping pong especially with my dad. I love serving in the church and helping others come closer to Christ any way I can. I am going to be a full time missionary and I am so happy. I want others to be as well, that's why I'm going. I am the youngest child in my family and have been able to watch my older siblings and learn from their success and failures, see how their actions affect my mother and I have learned more from seeing mistakes that I don't have to make. I see the consequences that I don't want as well as consequences of their good choices that I do desire. I love my family and we can be together forever through the temple.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church but at a fairly young age I began to wonder if this church was true. I believed it and felt great being at church and had amazing friends at church but I had a desire to know for myself that it was true. I acted on that desire, believing I would receive an answer and having faith I would. It took time, longer than I thought it should but The Lord's timing is perfect and way better than what we may think is the proper timing. Reading The Book of Mormon and praying every single night, I read through The Book of Mormon more than once reading Ether 12:6 which basically states you will receive no witness until after the trial of your faith, my trial of faith may seem silly but I went on a pioneer trek in Wyoming even though I was really sick because I wanted to gain a testimony so badly, my faith was tested even after I went, as I ended up in the hospital in Salt Lake very sick but that scripture was true because that trial of faith lead to me receiving my answer, because all I could do was sit at home after the hospital I kept reading and read the verse that changed my life, Alma 32:27 that teaches us to experiment upon the word of God and if you have a desire let that desire work in you to give place for The word of God. I had experimented and had a desire and when I read that I felt an overwhelming peace and joy and knew The Book of Mormon was true, and if it was true Joseph Smith was a prophet and restored The Gospel and that we have prophets on the earth today and that most importantly, Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and made it possible for all my joys and my hope. That's what The Book of Mormon does, it testifies of Jesus Christ as does The Bible. I am so grateful for the love Heavenly Father has for me individually, that I could receive a knowledge of His true church and the love He has for all of us individually, as does The Savior of the World, Jesus Christ who died for each of us individually and collectively for our joy.

How I live my faith

I am an example through my words and what I do. I try to say only kind words of everyone and try to be kind to everyone and make everyone feel happy around me. As well as being an example, I serve the singles in my stake inviting them to activities and trying to help them feel loved, cared about, and trying to invite them to be closer to Christ. I try to be friends to members and non members alike and show what I believe through my actions in being nice to everyone and share what I believe with my words as well and tell them why I'm so happy and how they can be happy and I share with them The Book of Mormon. I know it's true because I read and prayed about it and so desired to know if it was true and if The Church of Jesus Christ is true. I received an answer: It Is True! The knowledge gained along with that testimony brings eternal joy and a perspective that allows anyone in any circumstance to be happy and hopeful. That is what I will share on my mission which for the next two years is how I will be living my faith, by sharing it with others and helping them have that same lasting eternal joy. I live my faith by not making exceptions, life is full of exceptions and we are never exceptions, some people see rules but the teachings I live bring joy and they are ALWAYS worth it.
