Hi I'm Paula

I'm a mom of two amazing teenagers, wife of my best friend and recent college graduate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work hard at home, helping my two teenagers through the joys of junior high and high school. I went back to school after my youngest child started school, and have recently graduated with a degree in teaching. I plan to teach Science at the junior high level. I enjoy cooking with my husband, and we have quite the collection of cookbooks. We also enjoy traveling, and have been blessed to travel to Europe and South America. I enjoy crafting of all kinds, and am always on the lookout for something creative to do. I enjoy people and sharing the things I make with them. I enjoy spending time with my family. My children and husband are musically talented and the instruments they work on mastering include: cello, viola, ukelele, guitar, and piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I received an unequivocal answer to sincere prayer that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that the Book of Mormon is true scripture. This answer to prayer and continued spiritual witnesses is what has made the biggest impact in my life and continues to strengthen and help me through the trials of this life. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has brought me peace, hope in the future, and a reason to live happily today.

How I live my faith

Personally I pray to my Father in Heaven daily for help and guidance in every thing I do. I also read from the scriptures and the teachings of modern prophets and apostles. This helps me keep the influence of the Lord's Spirit with me as I go about my day, and helps keep me upbeat and positive. As a family, we pray together both morning and evening, over meals, and as a couple. We also read the scriptures together daily, and this is the time when our teenagers open up to us the most, about life issues with which they are dealing. We also set aside Monday nights for family time, to study the gospel and do fun things together. Currently I serve the children of our ward, as a counselor in the presidency over the children's organization called Primary. I teach the children the gospel of Jesus Christ, alternating with other members of the Primary Presidency, every Sunday in a meeting called "Sharing Time". We also plan group activities for the children, and a special presentation that the children participate in every year. My calling also involves making sure the Cub Scout program of the Boy Scouts of America runs as it should, by helping to train the leaders of the boys. I also visit four women of our ward each month, to share friendship, support, and an uplifting message. I volunteer in my community by helping out at the local schools.
