Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in a small Oregon town, I longboard, I swim, I want to be a Roller Coaster Engineer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a Mechanical Engineering student and it is really starting to push me. My plan is to finish school and go to work at a theme park hopefully Disneyland. I served a full time mission In Brazil and I returned around March of 2013. when I was home I loved to long board, swim and play tennis. I worked at the local pool as a life guard and a swim instructor. I currently work as a janitor which isn't as bad as one would think.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of the church because it has always felt like the right thing to do. My whole family has been members of the church for a long time. Scince the begining really. If you have heard about the begining of the church than you must have heard of a young man named joseph smith. Well I have ancestors then knew him and the traveled west when the rest of the church was making their way to salk lake. Although my family has always been members of the church that doesnt mean my choice was easy. Everyone needs to decide for themselves whether they think the church is true or not. Let me tell you I would not have gone to Brazil if I didn't beilive this church was true. I remember searching for anouther church. I would go to my freinds churchs trying to find somthing that would draw me away and show me a new light, but i never found it. Actually once a youth pastor fought me about the way i dressed when I came to the church, because I came in a white shirt and a tie, and began to talk badly about me and "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". After that happened i knew that no other curch was for me. However it wasn't untill after I had read and prayed about "The Book of Mormon" that I gained the testimony that i have now about the church. I love "The Book of Mormon" and it is whay I am a member of this church. It turely is the word of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying every day to follow Christ. Now some might look at me and see that I am far from perfect and if you look you will find faults however that's what makes this life beautiful and worth living. As we make mistakes we learn and grow and some day we can go back to live with our father in heaven. Through reading the scriptures and following the guidance that they contain every day I grow closer to my savior and everyday I learn more about him and who he was. When I learn who Christ was and how he lived I can better serve him and that is how I can live my faith. By putting into practice the things that he did and helping others I can live like he did and one day be like him.

Where did Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints begin?

Tyler
In the spring of 1820 a young man by the name of Joseph Smith at the age of 14 went into a grove of trees in search of an answer. What had been a nearly life long search for him was close to being finished. A search that included asking men, reading the bible, and finaly praying to know the truth of about the church of Christ. As an answer to his prayer god the father and Jesus christ came to him in a pillar of light. With complete faith he asked where the church of Christ was. To his suprise he was told that none of then where ture. Throught out the next 10 years other hevenly messengers visited him and helped him to restore the church to the earth. In Fayette, New York, on 6 April 1830 this process was finished and Joseph Smith organized the church and once again the Church of Chrits lead by a prophet of god was once again on the earth. Through this young man the Lord, Jesus Christ, established his church once again on this earth. As a proof of this work we have the book of mormon. Show more Show less
