Hi I'm Kyle

Born and raised in Sacramento, California. I studied Aerospace Engineering and sang a cappella at UCLA, serving in Chesapeake, VA.

About Me

I've always been a , but I'm definitely not ashamed of it. I got into UCLA as an aerospace engineer. Science is what I've always loved doing as a career but I still love music and singing so I also joined an a Cappella group while there. I love every second of it. I also love sports. I have played just about every sport there is at least recreationally but what I really love is track and field. I competed in the pole vault for 5 years. I am currently serving in the Virginia, Chesapeake mission, and it was the greatest decision that I've ever made. Nothing makes me happier than serving others and the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon first of all because I was born into a family where I was raised in the church. But I'm an adult now and I've stayed a Mormon because I know that it is the one true church on Earth today. I know how much it has benefited me not just by what people have told me or what is supposed to happen, but by what I've seen in myself and others. I've seen how much success I've had when I'm following the instructions of the church and it's leaders compared to how much I've struggled when I'm doing something contrary to what i should be. I've seen what peoples lives are like when they don't have the guidance that I have from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know how it makes me feel and I know that it can make anyone feel the same way. It may not be easy, in fact it is hard, but in the end it is all worth it, not just because of the feelings I have in this life, but because of the eternal reward that I know I can achieve if I continue to follow the prophet and be Mormon. Some people think that we are being exclusive or arrogant with our claims, but that is not the intent. We go out and share the message of the Restoration with everyone because we want everyone to know about it and have it for themselves, not so that we can keep them out. I've seen so much change and joy in my life as I've been on my mission and have helped others come to find this joy for themselves.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through example more than anything else. I may not have had a lot of leadership positions in the church where I can show that through actions or instruction, so I've made sure that I'm a good example to all my friends at school or in sports who may not know much about the church. As I've been serving on a mission I've been learning more and more about how important it is to be like Jesus Christ in every way that we can. That means not only in going to church and in reading scriptures, but in serving others, in loving unconditionally, and in losing myself and always thinking of others first. Obviously it's still a work in progress but that is how I try to live everyday.
