Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a mother of 6 daughters who turns trash to treasure. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have 6 daughters ages 23 to 3. I'm a retired theater arts teacher who has a passion for interior design, event planning, garage and estate sales, furniture repurposing and crafting. I'm married to an amazing man who loves and supports all us girls!

Why I am a Mormon

My first introduction to the Church was at the age of 16 when a cute boy asked if I'd like to go to church with him. I accepted the invitation, not having ever heard the term "mormon" before. I can't tell you the boy's name, but what I do remember is that when I walked into that church every family seemed so connected. Husbands has their arms around their wives, sibblings were sharing books and the families looked happy. My next introduction to the church was 2 years later through another cute boy and another invitation to go to church. The moment I walked into the chapel I remembered my first experience, "this is that church where families like each other." During a short dating journey with this boy I agreed to take the missionary discussions and learn more about the "mormon" church. I knew what I was being taught was true, but was just weeks away from leaving for college and I felt I wasn't ready to give up some of my habits to join the church. Just one year later I married, 3 months later was pregnant and before my daughter was even born, I found myself going through a divorce. However, when she was just a few months old I met another cute boy! I soon discovered he was mormon and was excited to get to know him and more about the church. From the moment that my daughter was born I knew I wanted what those families had at the funny little church where the families like each other. On our first date I remember reciting what I could remember from my missionary discussions and asking multiple questions. It was like I had been putting together a puzzle for all those years, and I was so close to finishing it. Three months later I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 4 months after baptism, I married that cute boy. We just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary, we have 6 daughters and just became grandparents to our first Grandson! I am Mormon because I love that little church where families like each other.

How I live my faith

I was recently called to be the Primary President in our ward. I love working with the children that are 18 months to 11 years old. I'm also the stake programs director for girls camp, so I get to use my theater arts background and work with our amazing young women.
