Hi I'm Tanner

I will be one of the first 18 year old missionaries. I'm from Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I will be serving a mission in Oklahoma City beginning June 2013. I love to learn. I love the Gospel. I love my family. I'm looking forward to attending BYU or SVU after my mission. I currently work at Wahooz Family Fun Zone where I run the Laser Tag and Go Kart attractions. I enjoy playing basketball and tennis. Here's a video clip of me opening my mission call and a few other thoughts about serving a mission. http://youtu.be/yg4Od7yID4w

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church here upon the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith wanted to know which church was true, so he asked God. What resulted was the first vision where Joseph learned that God the Father and His son, Jesus Christ were real and were two separate beings. I have read the Book of Mormon many times (more than ten times now) and have come to know the truth of it for myself. I have been able to find peace and answers to my questions as I have read the Book of Mormon. I have recently studied the atonement seeking to gain a better understanding of it, and have learned that the atonement allows you to repent of your sins and makes it possible to be better than you would be on your own. I also know the temple is the house of God even more so now as I have attended regularly on my own to do baptisms for the dead. I have come to know the power of the Spirit by attending the temple regularly. I am happy to know that it is possible to live with my family again in heaven if we live a righteous life. I look forward to having an eternal family of my own.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by praying morning, night and any time of need. I study the Book of Mormon or Bible every day. I attend seminary during my school day and also attend Young Men's every Wednesday and church every Sunday. I always try to act as Jesus Christ would act. I do this by showing kindness to and interest in others. In fact I was voted "Nicest" in my high school senior class. I recently served on the committee for the youth cultural celebration for the Boise temple rededication. It was an extremely amazing experience. I even got to see and perform for President Monson up close. I have also served as the stake dance committee chairman to help organize youth dances each month for about 500 youth. I love having these and other opportunities to serve others.
