Hi I'm Taegan

I'm a navy brat, a writer, a music lover, and a total geek. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm a junior in college. My interests range from listening to 80's music, singing in choir, writing stories, and frequenting the local beaches. I am a wicked fan of things like Star Wars, Harry Potter, and pretty much anything that has a cult following. I am a total book junkie, but not at all fond of things like e-readers and shenanigans. I've been all over the US and to Hawaii and Guam with my family. Both parents were military so I've been around. Now I'm waiting patiently for mission papers to go in and be called to serve!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 10 going on 11. My parents and I joined together. At the time I joined because my parents did, and it was something they wished me to be a part of. Well, it will be 11 years since our baptism on October 14th, and I'm still going strong. This gospel has given me ways to grow that I never could have imagined. I have a greater knowledge of what my purpose is here on this earth, and what I am to a Being that is all powerful. I have a Savior who willingly gave his life for me, and gave me a way back home. This gospel has given me not only a sense of my own worth, but happiness. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I attend regular service meetings each Sunday with my family. Some Sundays I get called in to help teach the youth and some days I get to sit in on lessons aimed at the adults. I often volunteer to chaperone youth events and or meetings to represent my ward. My family struggles with family home evening, but we try our best to say family prayer every night and read the scriptures. Singing also helps. I feel closer to my Heavanly Father when I sing hymns or even just uplifting music. And when I feel closer to Him it's easier to live by faith.
