Hi I'm Chelsea

I love to dance. I attend Brigham Young University. I have a great love for helping people. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music! I use my gifts to sing and dance to express myself. Dance is a central part of my life. I also love to sing. I have been singing in different choirs my whole life. This past spring I graduated from high school, where I spent two years on the cheerleading squad and four years in the dance program. Currently, I am a freshman in college. I'm in the pre-nursing major, with hopes of being accepted to the nursing program for next fall. I volunteer in at an elementary school because I love kids, and believe in the importance of education. I love life, and love helping others enjoy it! Also, I have been called too serve as a full-time missionary in Honduras!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that doesn't mean that it was always easy for me. My freshman year of high school I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to ask my Heavenly Father if it was true. You know what happened? He told me it was through His messenger, the Holy Ghost. I cannot deny what I know. However, I have still had challenges in my life. Recently my 7-year-old cousin died. Her death made me seriously think about life and the life hereafter. I spent so much time praying and pondering and searching for comfort. It came. I know that one day I will see her again, and that right now she is happy where she is. I know that families are forever. I am a Mormon because I have come closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ, through all of my trials. I know that they are sent to me to help me increase my faith.

How I live my faith

Each day I try to be more like Christ. It's hard, but it's worth it. I like to study characteristics of Christ to understand more about Him, and how to become like Him. I also like to try to see these characteristics in others to help me remember that they, too, are beloved children of God. I live my faith by learning about it, and applying what I learn to my life. I love sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others and helping them feel the happiness that comes from knowing who God is and knowing that He loves and cares for each of us as individuals. This was a huge factor in my decision to serve a mission! My personal relationship with Jesus Christ brings so much happiness to my life that I want to share it with others so that they, too, can feel the love and joy and happiness that comes with this gospel.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Chelsea
I like to think of my body like a rental car. It really isn't mine, it was bought by Christ during the Atonement. I try to take care of it so that I can feel closer to Him every day. The church teaches that our body is a temple because the Spirit of God dwells in us. We need to respect it and take care of it. Show more Show less
