Hi I'm Shyree

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I have a husband, and a beautiful baby girl. I am a student. I grew up in the middle of seven children. I have many hobbies and interests including: writing, running, hiking, anything at the beach, dancing, singing, music, reading. I love learning about people and different cultures. I believe that everyone has an interesting story to tell, and something to teach me. I love the outdoors, and enjoy them whenever my health permits. I am passionate about health and holistic healing. I have had Type I Diabetes since my twelfth birthday, and Porphyria since birth. I love anything that makes me laugh (my husband is the best at that). More than anything I love all of my family and Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught to live this Gospel since I was very young by my parents, and through out my life I have witnessed my family and myself receive blessings and joy that could have only come from God. Life has not been easy (as it wasn't meant to be, but to help us learn and grow and come to know our Heavenly Father and his love for us), but by turning to the Lord and His teachings, I have received strength and hope to overcome and heal from things that I thought I never could. Whenever I study the Gospel and hear the words of the prophets, I feel peace and warmth, and something deep inside me tells me that what i'm hearing is true. Confusion goes away and is replaced with clarity and understanding. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy.

How I live my faith

I pray to my Father in Heaven continually; to show gratitude, and to ask for help and guidance for myself and others. I attend a weekly church service, where i have the opportunity to partake of the sacrament to remember the Savior and his Atonement and to start over each week, and to learn. I contribute to my church by accepting assignments to teach and serve. I study the Bible and the Book of Mormon to learn the teachings of Jesus Christ, so that I can do my best to follow his example. Most importantly, I try to get better each day at following the Savior by serving my family and community with love.
