Hi I'm Alyssa

I'm a student. I love to travel and take photos. I love spending time with my family and friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student. I love traveling and photography (I'm getting better at it too). I love my family and friends, and I love to laugh. I'm an avid movie fan; I randomly say out movie quotes. I love life and I love this gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church my whole life. Often people would ask me if my parents made me go to church, or if it was my personal choice. Growing up there were days when I felt that I didn't have as strong a testimony of the gospel, and that I was just 'going through the motions'. But I can truly say that through reading the Book of Mormon, I have felt the Spirit of the Lord testify to me of its truth. I know that I am becoming a better person every day through prayer, scripture study and through living this gospel. I know that Christ died for us because he loves us; and that his sacrifice allows us to come back to Heavenly Father. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon through God's help, and I know that we are led by a living prophet. I know this church is true and I'm so grateful for the peace, comfort and direction it brings to my life every single day. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love each and EVERY one of us deeply, and I hope that I can live my life to be worthy of that love and compassion.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith every day by trying to live like Christ would. I find that the best way to live the gospel is to act like Christ is standing right beside you at all times. I'm a part of a service organization at my school, and I find that I have the opportunity to come closer to Christ as I am serving others. I feel that when I give a part of myself through service and kindness and friendship, that I am doing the right thing.
