Hi I'm Ashley Tietz

I'm a student at a small college in Vermont. I love reading, laughing, and looking for joy, and I love people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California, and I'm an identical twin! I love knitting, reading, and spending time in nature. I'm a sophomore at a small liberal arts college in Vermont, studying English literature and comparative religion! I hope to use my liberal arts education to make the world a better place through religious conflict mediation. Before that, though, I'm putting my education on hold to teach the Gospel as a Spanish-speaking missionary in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the love, joy, and healing I've experienced through my relationship with Jesus Christ. I have a testimony of the power of His Atonement to help me become a better person, and I have felt His deep love for me. I also have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, which brings so much joy and peace into my life! It has been a light for me in even my most difficult trials and has helped me learn to trust God with all my heart!

How I live my faith

I live my faith as I make choices each day that help me draw closer to and become more like my Savior. In the year and a half that I've been at college, I've had the opportunity to serve as a teacher for both the kids and the youth in my ward! My ward here in Vermont is small, but we have a small group of young single adults with whom I spend much of my free time; they've been such an uplifting influence in my life. I love this church and the many opportunities for service and connection it provides. Soon I'll be dedicating eighteen months of my life to serving God as a missionary in Minnesota, an opportunity I'm deeply grateful for!
