Hi I'm Lynn Winterton

I'm a Mormon because 1. My parents were Mormon. 2. I served a mission and increased my testimony at that time.

About Me

I grew up on a ranch and learned work ethics which helped me in my later life. I served a mission for our church, came home, married and started a family. I graduated from college with a degree in Animal Science, taught at a University for two years, then left to return to my first love, our ranch. Eventually, with five children to provide for I searched for a way to supplement our income. I found employment as a manager of a Water Users Association. I was responsible for the maintenance and repair of 14 reservoirs, the construction of new reservoirs and delivery systems and accounting for the delivery of water to irrigaton companies. After 28 years, I retired when I began to suffer from partial complex seizures. I was grateful to be able to return to the ranch and fill my time taking care of our cattle until this past year when we sold them so my wife and I could go on a mission. When I was a child my mother required that her children learn to play a musical instrument. In my case, it was the accordion. Since my retirement I have renewed my skills and now share them with residents of our local care centers. We are blessed to have three of our children live close by and we enjoy seeing some of our 13 grandchildren on a weekly basis.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon and my personal testimony developed as I watched my parent's example, while serving a mission, studying the scriptures and bearing my testimony as I taught others about the gospel. I know that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are real. I have had experiences where I have felt their influence in my life.

How I live my faith

I served in several positions while a youth which helped prepare me to serve a mission. I have always been active in the church and have spent many years working with the young men. I have also served in leadership positions and taught which has increased my testimony. My wife and I will be leaving soon to serve a one year mission for our church. We are looking forward to being able to devote 100% of our time to the Lord.
