Hi I'm Scott

I am a Spanish professor, hobbyist beekeeper, marathoner, husband, father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of four children, one girl and three boys. I teach Spanish and (occasionally) Portuguese at the local university. In my spare time I enjoy running, cycling, and swimming, and love doing them all with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members of the Church, and I grew up attending church meetings and activities. I served a full-time mission for two years to Chile when I was 19. Church activity always seemed like it was just something I had to do. As I have grown older and established my own family, I have been extremely grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and my membership in the Church for the perspective and strength that it gives me through the trials of life. I know that the gospel principles I learned in my childhood home are sound and true, and as my own children grow, I know that these principles will guide them in their life and bless and protect them as they leave my home and establish their own. Above all, I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is designed to make families eternal and lead us all back to God's presence.

How I live my faith

I am a volunteer seminary teacher for the high school age youth in Florence, and Second Counselor to the Bishop in our ward congregation.
