Hi I'm James Ehlers

I love to travel and make friends. I love working hard in school and giving service. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I was studying at the University of Utah in the areas of business management and mechanical engineering and am now serving the Lord as a full-time missionary in South Carolina. In high school I competed in wrestling and took many college classes. I have also competed nationally in business leadership and internationally in taekwon-do.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I was a member because everyone where I lived was a member. And when it came time for me to serve a mission I did not want to go, though I knew I needed to. Thankfully I had many family members and friends to push me, promising me it would all be worth it in the end. It was the process of serving a mission and the life I now live that converted me to the Lord. This is His church. Restored once more upon the face of the earth, along with all it's promised blessings and authority. I can vividly see the difference between when I serve Him with all my heart and when I don't. There is no joy that can compare to that which comes from living the gospel Christ taught and sharing it with others. All people upon the face of this earth are my friends. And I share the gospel with my friends. I came to the knowledge of this truth through much prayer, fasting, scripture study, and acting on the principles I knew. And I invite all people to do the same. There are blessings to be had in this church because it is under the direction of our Lord and Savior. Please pray and read the Book of Mormon, asking God if He has truly established His church upon the earth once more. That He has and He lives is my witness, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am serving the Lord with all of my heart by serving a two year mission in South Carolina. I read my scriptures daily because I know that when I pray, God can answer me through the scriptures. When I return home I intend to continue serving in the church by working in the temples, participating in humanitarian aide for those in need, and expanding my family tree by doing genealogy work. Which has everything to do with faith as I know that even those that have passed on from this life can accept the gospel of Jesus Christ as I seek to find them and stand in their place in the temples, where ordinances like baptism can be done. When I was younger I did many scouting and church service project with a group of young men around my same age. These young men and I also did numerous service projects in our neighborhood and fund raisers for the hospital. Some Sundays we would also bring sacrament to the elderly widows in the neighborhood. I served as the president of one of the church's young men's groups and am currently serving as a missionary for the church as well. At all times I seek to stand as a witness of Jesus Christ in both what I say and do. Christ has asked us to do many things through the scriptures and during his mortal ministry. I seek to do them all and more. When I return to stand in His presence one day, I want to be worthy of His joy at my return, knowing I have served Him and all His children as best I knew how.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

James Ehlers
I have been called as a missionary of the LDS Church. I have felt how the power of the Lord in this church and how much of a difference it makes in my life. When I feel like nothing is working and everything is falling apart, I know I can read my scriptures or pray and everything becomes worthwhile again. I want to share this happiness with everyone I can because I do love everyone and I want them to feel as I do as a member of this religion. Show more Show less
