Hi I'm Joshua

I like sports. I love being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports. I played football and ran track in high school. I also did debate. I went to college for one year before my mission. I'm going into political science and want to go into law. I want to run for office one day. I am the oldest of three children. I love outdoors and frequently hike with my dad and grandpa. I enjoy recognizing the little things in life that can bring so much joy. I am outgoing, optimistic, and love music.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always grown up in the church and thought it was true. I had doubts about whether the church was true or not, but I always believed it. Particularly one day someone was telling me why it wasn't true and why I shouldn't believe it. It was at a time close to when I was ready to leave on my mission. I figured if I was going to give two years of my life up, I had better know for sure that it was true. I realize I hadn't read the scriptures in a while, so I read a chapter that night from the Book of Mormon. After I finished I decided to follow the advice of a prophet from the Book of Mormon and pray to find the truth. I got on my knees and prayed to God from the very depths of my soul. I asked Him to help me to know that this church was true and that the Book of Mormon was the word of God. After I finish I felt an overwhelming feeling of joy and peace. I can not properly describe it in words, but I knew it was true! Through this church I have felt comfort at times in my life when I felt alone. I have felt the love of our Savior and felt free of the guilt for my wrong choices through him. Why am I a Mormon? Because this great joy and love can not be found any where else on the earth. Because in times of darkness I have a light to guide me. I am a member of this church because it is good and because it is true. I know this for myself, and bear witness of it in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving God in what ever way I can. I was a children's teacher at church before I left on my mission and I loved it. I was also a leader in the youth of my church and made sure that the youth of the church were doing ok and always had a friend. I love serving others and making sure that they know someone cares about them. That is probably the main reason why I decided to serve a mission. It is a lot to give up to leave my family, friends, school, and pretty much everything I've known to go to a new place to serve the Lord in a different language, but I want people to be able to feel of the love I have felt from my Savior Jesus Christ and his servants.
